We Are Family relies heavily on our dedicated volunteers - we couldn’t do it without their support. If you are interested in getting involved please contact us.

We meet twice a month to assemble and deliver grocery bags to seniors in the Shaw/North Capitol neighborhoods as well as the Petworth/Columbia Heights neighborhoods. We also meet once a month to do check-in visits with our seniors in their homes. We encourage individuals or small groups to drop in to any of those sessions. If you have a group that would like to join us, please get in touch with us and we will gladly find a time where we can work with you to maximize your time and impact.
